Creating Fusion clip - res constraint

PostMon Jun 07, 2021 3:30 am

Looks like when you create a fusion clip , I'm constrained by the resolution of it.
Let me explain.

I create a fusion clip on timeline , step into fusion do my shot.
Time to render , I render as individual clip , render as source resolution.
PROBLEM !
The source resolution is the resolution of the fusion clip, which is created in resolution of your project.
Project is lets say UHD but the sources are 5K.
And I need the renders to be in 5K.

How do I get them to be in 5K? What am I missing here?
Is there a simple fix to this ?
I need to use fusion clip and I cant change my project resolution :(

All of this in Resolve 17.2.1 not standalone Fusion.

I think the easiest way to do this is to migrate to Fusion standalone and output but if you can't do that for some reason, I hope the following will help.

"Render as source resolution" on the Resolve Deliver page seems to work only for clips placed directly on the timeline, in the true sense of the word.
So it works fine for clips that are not converted to Fusion Clip and processed directly in Fusion page.

In the first place, Fusion Clip resizes the converted clip to fit within the timeline frame size based on the scaling settings.
This resizing is not done if the clip is converted to Fusion Composition, but currently there is a bug in the output from the Deliver page that the output is in timeline resolution.
You can use the Saver node on the Fusion page to output at the source resolution, but please note that the Saver node in Resolve is not yet integrated with the original functionality, so the output format is limited to some image files only.

Thnx!

I started doing the saver output, and little choices there , just EXR for some reason .
Still no DPX.

Oh well.
