Bug report: Freezed Filmgrain on Apple Silicone

Hi,

I got a strange and annoying bug with Filmgrain node in Apple Silicone native mode. The grain looks OK between frames 1-47, but after 47 it freezes out. Well if I start Fusion in Rosetta mode, then Filmgrain works as it should.

Hi Peter,

thank you for quick reply.
I'm not familiar with generating logs so if you would tell me what to press I definitely will.
I found this bug in standalone Fusion. Therefore I checked Fusion tab in Resolve and bug unfortunately persist there. And another fun fact: it's not linked to particular frame number just the "magic" length of 47 frames.
My frame range in standalone Fusion begins from 1 and Filmgrain stuck at frame 47 (48 is the same pattern as 47 and so on).
Frame range in Resolve is set from 0 and Filmgrain stuck at frame 46 (47 is the same as 46).
You can easily reproduce this -- just add Filmgrain node and try it after frame 46-47 (mine is freeze). But at the same time the Grain node (not a Filmgrain) is working OK.
This is all in Apple Silicone native mode only.

Thanks for fixing small but annoying problems with Wacom. Really appreciate.

BUT the filmgrain bug still in place. Anybody going to fix that in this century?

What's new in Blackmagic Fusion Studio 17.4.3
Addressed potential freezes with fuses on Apple Silicon.

Well, Filmgrain is not a Fuse but who knows... NO, problem still here with us :(

The posts are definitely visible. Have you ever send a mail to the support? And you should also send that resolve log file. In my experience they weren’t able to log a bug without it.

No, I didn't send a mail. I tried to explain here how to reproduce the bug and even attached test composition half a year ago.
Could you please tell me what should I press and where to get the proper log?
Most of the time I'm on Fusion but I can run Resolve for this.

In newer versions of Resolve you can create a log directly from the UI under Help:

To get quick results you should also send a comp file that reproduces the issue and your system specs in the same mail.
You can find the correct e-mail address on the support page https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/suppor ... and-fusion

It's different based on the region you're in.
