Motion blur not working (merge node)

I'm not seeing any changes when I use motion blur in the merge node. I'm using the Fusion page in Resolve, and for what it's worth, I'm still using 17.2.2. That said, I checked the change notes and didn't find anything about motion blur in later versions.

Can you share the setup? Because 'it's not working' isn't enough to troubleshoot. Most obvious question: are you animating the merge itself so there is something to blur?
Second: there is a setting that allows you to turn off the motion blur globally, maybe that setting is active?

Nothing on the merge node is animated. That seems like a weird and unintuitive thing to have to do for that feature to be engaged, especially since the user manual doesn't mention anything like that. The motion in this case that I want to add blur to is coming from a planar transform. Is that just not how it works? And if so, what do I need to animate to get motion blur to be possible?

Generally You Engage Motion Blur In The Node You Are Animating. Either It Is a transform, merge, or any other. Check the settings of the node with the animation to enable it and the fusion preview that it shows the motion blur in the viewer.

Hey, look at that. Don't worry, I'm a professional.
