no source when cloning with the paint

i am new here.
I am from Germany and working with resolve since a few years, but fusion is still a book with seven seals for me, some times!
Actually no big deal, I've done it several times, but since the latest version the clone function with the paint tool no longer works.
When I select a source, normaly a small red cross actually appears and you paint over your target, but this cross no longer exists and painting over has no effect. All other variants such as replacing color, stamping pattern or coloring all work, only clone does not.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do there?
The material or project does not matter, it is the same for everything. Greetings and thanks Guido
