Washed out sRGB export from Fusion Standalone to Quicktime

PostFri Nov 12, 2021 8:58 pm

When selecting sRGB color space & colar gamma on saver node in fusion standalone I am still getting the washed out export in the quicktime file. Is there some additional setting for the gamma tag in Fusion? I was not able to find it in the help documentation. Exporting in sRGB to quicktime with DavinciResolve the colors looks consistent and there is no gamma shift. Thanks for any suggestions.

How different are we talking about? Can you share screenshots? And are you on Mac or windows?
There are some differences to how MacOS interprets certain gamma tags compared to other devices but to be honest, even when I was using Mac I always got the colors out of Fusion that I saw in Fusion.
But maybe we can help with more information.

Gamma issues in Quicktime have been an issue for over a decade. Search Google for workarounds people have come up with.

I usually use DNx codecs in a Quicktime wrapper for Mac exports, they have been very solid for me.
