Fusion Bitmap node acting funny

Hi there! I am new to this community and I would like to ask why my Bitmap Node in the Fusion page of Resolve is acting funny. What I want to do is mask out an image sequence with a black and white image sequence (a luma matte). So I have plugged this luma matte into the bitmap node and then into my image sequence; however, when i go back to the editing page in Resolve, the mask becomes static. I'd appreciate some feedback on how else I can use a luma matte to mask out my 3D renders either inside of Fusion or just Resolve's Color Page.

Without knowing the content of your files it's hard to tell. But the more recent versions of Resolve allow for B/W mattes to be used directly on the timeline. I can't recall the correct order from the top of my head right now, but I think the video has to be for example on track 2 and the matte on track 1. Then you can select the blend mode of the clip on track 2 and select the matte clip op track 1 to mask it out.
There are a couple of tutorials about it on Youtube. Once you know (or remember) how it's easy.
Does it work on the Fusion page, but not in the Edit page?

Sander is right, from ver 17 you can use track matte right in the edit page.
put your background in track 1
pur your luma matte (bw matte) in track2
Put your foreground in track3
On the track 3 foreground clip select foreground from composite blend
on track 2 luma matte select luma or alpha from the composite blend
you should now get the composite image.
by selecting invert luma or alpha you can also flip the composite.
You can try it if that works.
