Fusion Connect - Multi-Layer Comps appears broken

PostWed Mar 02, 2022 6:19 pm

Hello!,
I'm working in Avid Media Composer 2021.12 and Fusion Studio 17.4.3 using the Fusion Connect plug-in.

Whenever I try to create a multi-layer composite, the topmost video layer gets rendered as the plate for each loader.

I am able to work around this issue, by dragging in the MXF media for the corresponding clip that does not translate. Fusion just treats it like any loader and outputs back to MC just fine.

Image
selected 2 video tracks to perform a picture-in-picture style composite

Image
only V2 gets rendered for both layers.

This works in older Avid MC, so is an issue at their end.

I got it to work... Need to select 3 layers when creating the comp since Filler counts as a layer (I was selecting 2)

So am I reading this right?? Instead of helping Arthur figure out why his stuff was not working, Blackmagic representative Steve just put blame on Avid and moved on?

Hey

I don't read a basic "blame", but a fact reminder that it worked before in previous Avid versions + BMD didn't change anything connected with that = Avid regression...
What's the problem actually...
