"Burn in" in fusion effects after upgrading to 18 Beta

PostMon May 09, 2022 9:09 am

Hello !

I have recently upgraded to Resolve 18 beta; I should have known better but i made a mistake of not backing up my project data base so everything got upgraded; I have no way to downgrade to Resolve 17;

The problem I am facing currently is only in fusion (so far). I have added some masking on footage shot on partial green screen. Now wherever I had the rectangle mask, I see an artefact with Da Vinci Resolve studio in the background .

Did anyone else face this issue? Does anyone know how to overcome this problem?

If there is a formal customer support forum please let me know the link ; I am just new to troubleshooting things in Da Vinci Resolve, i made 1 silly mistake and its turned out to be an expensive one. I dont want to downgrade and lose all my projects :roll:

You most likely downloaded and installed Resolve 18 instead of Resolve Studio 18.
Win 10 Home | Intel i7 - 10700f 64 GB 1 TB GB SSD 2 TB SSD
RTX-3060 12 GB | Resolve Studio 18.6.6| Fusion Studio 18.6.6

Win 10 Home | Intel Core I7-7700HQ 32 GB 1 TB NVME SSD 1 TB SATA SSD
GTX-1060-6GB | Resolve 17.4.6

Clutching at straws, I don't use automatic system restore points myself but if you are someone that does, then maybe your OS has created a restore point, back when you installed Resolve 18 beta and going back to that point, if you can, might make your task at least a bit easier..

Thank you both. As @xunile said, installing the Studio version beta solved the problem.

Absolutely right. This was the issue.
I need to remind myself to update the studio version everytime.
Thanks for your response.
