Adjustment Layer Clip Name as Expression for Text+ Node

Hey Davinci Resolve Experts,

I created a custom title which contains a blurred shading background and is applied via "Overlay"-Apply Mode. Therefore I need the clip below my title and can't create a "standalone" title Macro.

That's why I am using Adjustment Layers. Unfortunately they don't allow any customization in the Edit Page.

I want to create word by word subtitles and want a faster way to edit the title value than heading in the Fusion Page for every single Adjustment Layer.

My Idea was to edit the value via the (File)Name of the Adjustment Layer and get it into the Text-Node via an Expression. This value is changeable in the Edit Page and therefore would allow to quickly change the text value.

Text(MediaIn1.ClipName.Value)

I read in a different thread that this is how to get the filename of MediaIn1 (only works in Fusion of "real media" not in an Adjustment Layer), but I need the name of the Adjustment Layer itself.

I hope you know how I can form that expression, or maybe you have even a better solution to my problem...

You can get the clip name of the Adjustment Clip, you just have to rename it, drag it to the Media Pool, then drag it back to the Timeline. The Text(MediaIn1.ClipName.Value) should work then.

I actually already created some presets in my Power Bins but never tried the Expression on those...

Now I just need to head to my Power Bin » right Click » Duplicate Clip » F2 on the new Clip » drag it in
