Change Fusion node shortcuts?

PostSat Jun 18, 2022 11:50 am

I typically go Shift+Spacebar and input "xf" as a shortcut to bring up the transform node.

But I recently installed a 3rd party fuse called "XfChroma Fuse" which uses the shortcut "xfc". This new fuse now comes up first when I type xf and has actually slowed down my workflow.

Is there a way to change shortcuts or rename nodes so that I don't have this conflict? If it were possible, I would also change shortcuts to other nodes that I frequently use to allow faster access.

Step 1. Open up the "XfChroma.fuse" file in a programmer's text editor. Scroll down to the "FuRegisterClass" section starting at line 174.

Step 2. Change the attribute named "REGS_OpIconString" from "XfC" to use whatever shortcut text you want to see listed in the Select Tool dialog. Save the fuse document.

Step 3. Restart the Resolve/Fusion program for the fuse editing changes to take effect. The next time you display the Select Tool dialog the revised OpIconString value will be displayed.

First of all, you're a legend. Thanks for your contributions on Reactor. I use the Karta VR tools that you made.

Secondly, thanks for taking the time to reply. I did what you suggested and it worked.
I had to also change the name of the fuse (Line 175) because it was still showing up first.

Thanks again.

Have you tried the Customize Hotkeys under the View Menu?

Yes,, i didn't let me change the default one. I tried adding new one, but it just didnt do anything. Someone suggested to edit some files but it cant figure it out yet. The default settings seems to be build in for good. like nothing will override them unless you mess with the files.

Did you make sure that the one you are trying to change it to isn't already being used? It looks like Ctrl+D is for Add Bookmark.

I have tried different ones as well, more complex, like CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+D. still nothing.
But then how can i know which one is in use if it doesn't say even if i assign the same one.
Ive added few of these, none of them works except CTRL+P and not once Fusion mentioned anything about shortcut being used by other tool or function.
D is ideal cause its not used i guess. nothing happen when i press it so perfect for Disable tool. Right under my finger ;)

Hi ! :)
I's this impossible to change then ? Anyone had any success with this particular shortcut ?

Ahhh, i see now :D it does work but not when i'm in the Node editor.
If i select any node and then click on any Viewer, i can toggle between ON/OFF on that selected node.
Just clicked it by accident now...
Still not what i had in mind. Any way of changing that shortcut to be working in the node editor as well ?

Create a file 'C:\Users\kshee\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\Fusion\Profiles\Default\Hotkeys.fu'

With the following in it:

Code: Select all
{
   Hotkeys {
      Target = "FuView",

      D = "Execute{ cmd = 'obj:Comp():DisableSelectedTools()' }",
   },
}

The target 'FuView' means the key will work pretty much from any sub window of the application (e.g. viewer, flow view, etc...

Thank you Kel, ill try.

Update: it didn't worked when i created Hotkeys.fu. But i think that might have worked on older versions.
I'm on 18 and Fusion created a file called 'User.fu' in that directory. It had some custom keys that ive created before. So i put that command in this file and this seems to be working now. Thank you for help, this will make a massive difference. :)

Problem solved.

I don't want to create another topic on the same problem but in DVR-Fusion Page this time :D

I found it in the Keyboard shortcuts menu, assigned Shift+D to Enable tool in fusion page (Display View), but it does not work in the node editor. Only when i click in any of the viewer, then i can toggle the nodes on/off.

Any way of adding that shortcut to node editor (DVR Fusion page) ? Can seem to find any config file that would allow me to add some comand line, like in fusion studio. Also not sure if the same code would work in DVR.
