.MOV files won't open in Fusion Studio 18

PostThu Aug 25, 2022 9:29 am

CPU. Intel i9 10900X
MB Asus Rog Strix X299-E Gaming 2
RAM 64GB DDR4
Graphics AMD (Asus) Radeon 6900XT
Fusion Studio 18

While I’ve used the “Fusion” feature when editing in Davinci Resolve, I’m completely new to the stand-alone Fusion Studio program. Long story short; I can’t open .MOV files in the Display viewer; .mp4 files open no problem. The situation pertains to clips taken on the same camera and initially edited in DR. Any help appreciated.

Fusion should support many file formats by default but for everything else, you can install the FFmpeg plugin quite easily through Reactor.

If you don't know Reactor, it's a collection of fuses, macros, scripts, and so on.

Ran into the same issue yesterday and followed a youtube video which showed adding ffmpeg to the path environments in Fusion, did not work. After reading this thread and installing ffmpeg via reactor I can now import my Sony footage without problems. So, thank you very much! :)

FFmpeg works for me when installed with Reactor under Windows. Under Linux (Mint) nothing shows up.
