For some reason - I don't know why - you can't control the size of your duplicates inside the duplicate tool. As you've seen the size works additive i.e the size gets bigger or smaller, but you want all the sizes to be the same. You can't do that in the duplicate node. Never mind, because in this case you'll probably can achieve this with a transform tool (or a couple of them)
The transform tool has an option to 'wrap' around it's edges. So if you make something smaller, you'll get smaller copies that run across the screen. It's easier to show than it is to explain.
Can you DM me a still of the background and the image of the ant in this forum and I'll make a short video to show you how it works. That's much quicker in this case.
