Hello All:

I am having issues with Fusion Studio 18.1.3 operating under MacOS 13.2.1 not launching. I have uninstalled the previous version 17 (which also did not launch). Also, uninstalled 18.1.3 and re-installed. Fusion Studio still does not launch. I have no plug-ins installed for Fusion.

Anyone else have this problem? What did you do to resolve?

Can anyone help me with MacOS Fusion Studio 18.1.3 as it crashes on launch.

I would like to perform a manual un-install. Beyond moving the application to the trash, does anyone know of any other files that I can delete from the OS?

HI All:

I finally was able to perform a manual un-install of Fusion 18 Studio. I also tried booting in safe mode. Still the splash screen followed by a crash.

Anyone have any ideas that might help me?

Maybe someone is who is more experienced reading these reports can help.

The crash report states the following:

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x00000001353af39c
Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000001, 0x00000001353af39c

A responder to my MacRumors post also has this crash.

Not quite certain what to believe at this point. I used to able to run this application and I know others are successful as well.

Any thoughts on how to resolve would be greatly appreciated.

As a basic try (which won't be satisfying in any way), did you try to open it with Rosetta ?

Hello All:

With the help of Rusian at Blackmagic Technical Support in the USA, I was able to get Fusion Studio to launch. The issue was related to a file located in Macintosh HD/Library/OFX/Plugins/CineMatch.ofx.bundle. With this file deleted, I was able to launch Fusion Studio.

If for some reasons this plug-in happens to be useful in any other app (including Resolve), you could let it there but prevent it to launch inside Fusion...
For this, you just have to have it appear in a blacklist file : search the forum for "blocklist" (yes, with an "o") to know how to.

Thank you for the suggestion. While I am no longer using the file, the next time I get a crash I be certain to look in that location and blacklist as you suggested.
