I have a fusion dongle and everything work fine on the other versions. But the 18.5 doesn't recognize my dongle. Is anyone having the same issue? Is there a way to work around?

Does it work with Resolve 18.5?

I have a serial key for resolve so yeah my resolve work fine (and my serial key wont work for fusion...)

Same issue with Fusion 18.5 b3, ask for serial number at startup, but 18.5 b2 works fine

Nothing has changed in the Fusion Studio dongle check process between v18.0 and 18.5.x.

For the people seeing this, can you provide full system details so we can try to repo?

Hello, Peter! Just tried again to install Fusion Studio 18.5 Beta 3, when you start it asks for a serial number. In the screenshot you can see: Cannot start FusionServer. Fusion Studio Halted.

System:
macOS Monterey 12.6.6
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019)
Processor: 3,7 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5
GPU Radeon Pro 580X 8GB
Ram 64Gb

Resolve 18.5 Beta 3 works fine, Fusion Studio 18.5 Beta 2 also works fine

I am having the same issue over here. Fusion 18.5, either beta 2 or 3 fails to authorize the dongle, although it worked perfectly until a couple of days ago. I haven't done anything strange or changed settings unless some automatic windows update could have happened overnight maybe?
I also change network frequently between two locations but haven't got any issue until now.
Uninstalled, reainstalled 18.5b2 and 2 with no luck. Fusion Resolve 18 seems to be working OK.
I found a workaround to get going though : I still have an old Fusion 17 version installed. That version launches correctly, and the funny thing is that Fusion 18.5b3 actually starts if I leave Fu17 open.
At least I can work until the issue is resolved...

CPU intel i9-9880H
Ram 32 gb
GPU RTX2070 w/Max-Q
Window 11 Pro 22H2

Yes, I tried the reboot, but with no positive result.

I am having the same issue. My Fusion suddenly stop recognising dongle. Resolve studio opens fine without any issue, Fusion is on the other hand hangs on the activation screen. And I do not have a serial number - just a dongle. Any tips how to resolve it? I am in the middle of the project that has very tight deadline, and need this to be fixed ASAP.

You could try my workaround, which is to start an older (17) version, leave it open, then launch Fusion 18. It opens correctly for me. It might get you going until the issue is fixed maybe?

I found solution on my side.
I use the LuLu networking utility and for some reason it started blocking one of the authorization processes on Beta 3. After disabling Lulu, the program immediately started.

I'm also having this problem with Fusion 18.5 beta 3

Almost every time we launch Fusion... we get an Activation Key request window saying "Please enter your license key to activate or make sure you have a dongle connected."

My USB dongle is connected. If I remove the dongle and insert it into a different USB port and click the "Activate" button on the license request window, it again says "failed to activate".

If we close the license requester and relaunch Fusion... it launches ok.

If we close Fusion and then launch Resolve... then close Resolve and re-launch Fusion... it shows the license request window again.

If we don't launch Resolve, it will relaunch Fusion ok.

Weird...

There is a known conflict with Synology's software, where their installed service blocks the TCP port 1144 registered for Fusion's usage. If you have Synology software installed, this may be related.
