Can I get Chromatic aberration in Fusion standalone?

PostSun Feb 25, 2024 4:58 am

I prefer doing my large VFX comp scenes in Fusion standalone with a VFX connect clip.
For the shot I’m doing right now, It has a bunch of 3D rendered stuff in it. So I want to add slight chromatic aberration and I don’t see an option for adding chromatic aberration in Fusion standalone. Can I do this?

Here is a tutorial by Simon Ubsdell that might help you on your way, it's not specifically on chromatic aberration but it kinda is about chromatic aberration.

Easiest way to add chromatic aberration in Fusion Standalone is to attach the Chromatic Aberration Remover tool (CAr) and crank the aberration correction sliders up!
Windows 11 // i9-13900K // RTX 4080 // 128GB DDR5 RAM // 2TB WD M.2 NVMe // ASRock Z790 // TH420 AIO Liquid CPU Cooler

I sometimes use: The VintageLens simulates vintage lens characteristics. It adds such optical artifacts as anamorphic flaring, ghosting and chromatic aberrations. To install the VintageLens tool copy the file VintageLens.setting into Fusion installation directory Drive:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\Fusion\Macros\

It works really well if you want to add Chromatic aberration. Give it a try.
