Installing FFmpeg on Fusion Studio 18.6

PostThu Mar 14, 2024 4:22 pm

Hello all,
I'm trying to install FFmpeg to Fusion Studio 18.6, as it says it supports it.
Currently on a M1Max, on Macos 14.4

I have read through all the forums, but could not find an updated article about this. Mostly dated back to 2022 and mostly for windows or linux.

I have tried for several days, but installing FFmpeg does not work when loading in media from the Loader node.

- I have downloaded the "Shared" version of FFmpeg for mac
- Tried several versions, 3.4.1 Shared - 4.2.1 Shared - and the latest 6 version from the FFmpeg website.
- I have set the pathmap correctly in the Fusion preferences.
- Tried downloading FFmpeg from the Reactor script, also does not work.

If anyone does know any information regarding installing FFmpeg on the latest Fusion Studio on mac, please let me know.

Thanks!

**Update: I was able to successfully install FFMPEG through Reactor on the Windows 11 Platform (Fusion Studio 18.6.5)

But still, I have not been able to install it on the Macos platform.

Can I add an additional question, how often is the FFmpeg, insalled through Reactor, updated?

From what I read, it's a fixed version so other software that depends on it in Reactor won't have compatible issues.
