Fusion 19 beta and Fusion 18 separate installs?

PostSat Apr 13, 2024 1:36 am

If I install the Fusion Studio 19 beta, will it replace Fusion Studio 18, or can they co-exist without any issues? This is on macOS Apple Silicon.

Yes, it installs in a new folder Blackmagic Fusion 19 and keeps the Blackmagic Fusion 18 folder / intact. Have tested and both installed versions run fine on an M1 MBP running Monterey.

Please consider this yet another request for a custom install location just like Resolve has.

Yes, but don't assume that it's the same thing with Resolve Studio because it is not. Installing Resolve 19 beta overwrites 18.

Yes, I'm not out of my mind and don't assume anything (and even less with Resolve)... The thing is I'm a lot on Fusion Studio... A lot...
During some months or say 20 days series, I'm even more on Fusion Studio than on Resolve, and I know it's not bound to Resolve when it comes to install it, for I've been upgrading Fusion way quicker than Resolve up to now.
Hence I can stick to a couple of version before the last one on Resolve - BTW I'm on Resolve 18.5 right now - when I finally pretty quickly adopt the last Fusion version.
Here it's not really the same since we write about betas, but I know I'll do the same with release candidates or final versions soon...
Thx for your warning anyway
