Fusion composition not working being moved between projects

Not sure if this post belongs here, but please let me know.

I've been using Davinci for a couple of years now, but I'm still trying to get a handle on some things. Recently, I created a sort of intro sequence for my father's videos, and when in its respective project, it works and looks great, but when I try to copy and paste it into another project, there's just one fusion composition that doesn't work as intended. It's a rolling image that moves across the screen, and, like I said, when I move it to another project, it just shows a red box with media offline.

Of the two images attached, the first image shows the composition in its respective project, where it works just fine, and the second shows the composition in a separate project, where it does not work and shows a media offline image in its place. Everything looks the same, and nothing's been changed, but it just doesn't work. Is there a reason for this? Is there a workaround, or do I just have to render it out and bring it back in every time I want to use it? I'll also attach a link to a video I made showing my process. Any help or advice on this matter is greatly appreciated.

I don't have the time to watch a 16min explanation video or the tutorials you watched to create your comp...
I assume the MediaIn in your comp is a logo or something you dragged in from the media pool.
Try to use a Loader Node instead of dragging your assets from the Media Pool.

I wasn't really expecting many people, if anyone, to watch the video I made, but I put it there in case anyone had any questions as to what I did or how I did it.

This is the first I'm hearing of loader nodes. Assuming it's not a studio-only feature, how would I go about doing that? Is that something that can be done in the edit page, or is that in Fusion?

Check out the I/O section of the Fusion tools. In addition to MediaIn there's also a Loader.

And how would I go about replacing the fusion composition that I already have in place with the loader?

Right-click your MediaIn1 > Replace Tool > I/O > Loader
Your filebrowser should open automaticaly.
There you can choose the graphic you want to use.
You can also browse for a file in the Inspector.

The problem with media imported in DaVinci Resolve is that it gets a unique ID, which won't be present in a new Project. The Loader Node just uses a filepath to look for the media - so this way it should be possible to reuse the Fusion Comp in a new project.

Be aware, that only images/image sequences can be opened with a Loader Node - if your asset is a video it will not work.

You know, I never even thought of that. That makes so much sense! Thank you so much! I'll definitely give this a try!

I just followed the steps you provided and it worked like a dream! Thank you again! I cant believe it was so simple! I guess I cant call myself a master of Davinci just yet!
