Problems with motion vector pass from Cinema4d

PostSun Nov 30, 2014 4:39 pm

Hi,

I tried the free Fusion 7.5 version and want to test the motionblur capatibilities. Now I have a problem with the vector pass from Cinema4d. If I import it in fusion and connect it together with the footage in the vectormotion node, the result is blurred but not correct.

I read some other infos in the net and it seems that there is a problem with the pass. In cinema parts of the pass which have values from R and G 0.5 (with primatte pipette) are without motion but in Fusion only parts in which the pass has R = 0 and G = 0.5 has no motionblur. Is there a way to convert the cinema pass to a pass which works correctly in Fusion?

The tips with the modo pass in which you put brightness to -0.5 before the vectormotionpass doesn't fix the problem. The best result I get with primatte and key the R and G part with 0.5 out but when I have moving parts that stop in the animation, the blur stops very abrupt.

If neccessary I can upload a little sequence with a motion pass.

Hi Ansgar.

Using a B/C with Brightness = -0.5 should fix the problem.
Keep in mind though, that your MBlur-Pass *must* be 16float or 32float in order for that to work.
You can swith the Loader's processing to 32float in the Import-tab.

You can also view the B/C,
RMB in the view and select views -> waveform to see what's going on.

Also try to increase the VectorMotionBlur's Scale factor to (say) 100.

Cheers.

Ok, I made a reply, integrated a link to an example scene and asked a few questions, clicked on submit and got a message that posting links is not allowed and my message was gone. This is very annoying! The file is to big to attach so what should I do?

As you can imagine, if people could post links right away, this place would be overrun with spam.

I don't think you need that many posts though....so just consider participating in the forums more and you'll have the needed count before you know it.

No, I don't think so. This is the first forum I know which doesn't allow links. Meanwhile I found a more userfriendly fusion forum which answered my questions and where I could post links in my first post!
