Hello

How can one access the decoding parameters of r3d files within fusion?

Thank You

In the format tab of the loader, all the RED R3D parameters are available.

Yeah, but there is no option for decode in the format tab. What I would like to know and what I think was asked, was where can you select Half Good, Quarter Good, Eight Good, decode resolutions? This is a standard part of the option in other software.

Here is the option in Nuke. Its a 5K Dragon r3d file but I can drop it down to HD with a click of a button. Yes I could simply resize it in Fusion, but the advantage here is speed. With the decode set lower, the software only has to load the pixels it needs. Fusion seems to have everything else, but this is a major feature of shooting with RED and using raw r3d files.

The decoding parameters for all image formats are in the format tabs.

Fusion will decode proxy and quick versions based on the Proxy and HQ buttons at the bottom of the interface.

If Proxy is off and HQ is on then Red files will be decoded at full resolution and full debayer quality.
If Proxy is set to 4 and HQ is off, then this will decode at 1/4 res quick debayer, which should be realtime.
