Fusion. Is it possible to....?

Is it possible to import a 3d model directly into Fusion with textures or do I have to camera track a clip and render the model in 3DS max then import it as a video clip? My goal is to use an Archinteriors model from Evermotion as a virtual set and place my live action greenscreen footage into the room. I know that I could camera track the live action greenscreen footage and import it into max and render it that way, but that takes days to render 35 seconds of footage unless I use a render farm. I have been looking for a faster way to do this but I have yet to find one. Any thoughts for this? I am really not a 3d modeler and I know just enough about Max to open a file and load camera tracking data to render it.

You can use FBX import or Alembic import - whatever suits Your needs.
But Fusion3D renderer won't get You the results equal to Other Rendering engines... or just to many workarounds.. You could try with 3Delight port, but wait.. plugins are avaiable in Fusion Studio... and that is out of reach - at least in Europe. And then You're back to "normal" render-times ;)

I made the suggestion a couple of months back for the Fusion team to look at support for Octane Render http://render.otoy.com/.
Then you'd get proper ray-traced high quality output and one of the fastest ray-tracers out there too, as it renders using GPUs. I hope they do this.

You should actually get in touch with Otoy and ask them to support Fusion.

I haven't looked it up but I believe OTOY provides an SDK and it's up to then who ever wants to use it in their own software to code the integration.

Thank you all for your responses and suggestions. I will look at them more closely and try some of them and hope in the near future that Fusion will integrate the Octane renderer into the program as well as different tools for importing 3ds models and textures directly into Fusioin.

What do You mean?? FBX import does import all geometry, with hierarchy, all materials (do not know about textures in latest version, but they are easy to load if necessary). None of compo apps support multiple UVsets, and You could have per-vertex animation (with the help from a plugin)..
But, from what i gather, in Your scene - it's "static" models, so no geometry animation.. this usually transfers well

So does Blackmagic :)

Otoy provides already 13 plugins for 3rd party apps, and many more are to follow. If enough people request a Fusion one, they might add that too.

Blackmagic won't do it, I'm sure. It's not where the priority lies for a comp app.

Which is NOT to start a discussion about how useful Octane can be. That's another matter entirely.
