We could use some help from anyone that has 4k setup.

We are experiencing an issue where drag and droping of images into the flow are failing when 4k DPI scale is set to 'recommended' in the advanced section of change resolution. In other words, if the program has tiny tiny icons, and is unusable in 4k, then it works. If it's 'scaled' up to look like HD, it doesn't work.

One thing to note, the failure only happens if you reboot in that 'recommended' mode.

We would appreciate anyone that can tests this and report back results/hardware used.
We know the GTX 980 is causing this on several machines we have tested, but we haven't done this with other GPU's that support 4k.

In neither Windows 7 nor 8.1 am I seeing anything in the Advanced section for that. I see Adapter, Monitor, and Color Management only.

I see settings under the "Make text and other items larger or smaller". Currently set to 150% (Windows 7 uses radio buttons, while 8 uses a slider).

Here's a sample of what I see. Drag and drop works fine.



The mouse pointer and the title bar and the menus are all larger size, but the tool controls and such are the original size. Is that expected?

Hmmm... I don't have a section for that.

And another small detail... windows 8.1
when you change resolution from the desktop, you get the option to Make Text and other items... etc... it's in there that you uncheck 'let me choose one scaling for all my displays'. this will reveal the slider you see in the jpg.



When it's at it's smallest, it works fine. When it's at the 'recommend' slider it fails (this example has smaller as recommended because it's HD display not 4k, otherwise recommended would be in the middle)

Right, 8.1 has a slider, 7 has radios. I see 8.1 can have radios if you check that "Let me choose..." box.

So anyway, what I grabbed was 7 with the scaling at 150% and drag and drop working fine on a 4096x2160 display.

I am running dual 4k monitors off of a 980 GTX and a 780 GTX combo - the drag and drop did not work before turning off the scaling option. At full 4k it is fine.

We have confirmed it on other card, and other apps including non Blackmagic Design products.
Looks like Microsoft and Nvidia need a conference call!
