RenderSlave

PostThu Apr 16, 2015 11:38 am

Hi all!

I have 2 licenses of Fusion Studio 7 that both came with an SD card containing the 'Fusion Studio 7.6' installer and something called 'Blackmagic Connection 7.6'.

I have installed Fusion but nowhere in the installation can I find a version of RenderSlave. I also can't find it for download. There is reference to it in the accompanying manual which says it can be found in Fusion>Utils. This folder doesn't exist.

The manual is a little confusing with regard to the section on 3rd party render managers. I want to control my Fusion slaves with Deadline. To my knowledge the only thing I need to do is to point Deadline at RenderSlave.exe and away we go. Except I cannot seem to find it!

Best,
Jan.

The renderslaves installer sits in your Program folder, e.g.
Code: Select all
C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\FusionStudio\Blackmagic_Fusion_Render_Node_7.7.1.msi

If I remember correctly, Fusion 7.6 didn't come with the render slave installer.

You'll need to download Fusion 7.7 installer and it'll include the Blackmagic_Fusion_Render_Node_7.7.1.msi in the fusion program folder.

I have downloaded the 7.7 installer and sure enough there is the render node installer.

Thanks both!
Jan.
