I want to select non sequential characters within the text tool.
EG: using the word "example" we need to select just the characters; e, a, p and e.
The instinctive; shift, ctrl or option modifiers, seem to have no effect.
How is it done?
I'm running it on a mac.
Thanks.

You need to RMB in the Text-Field and select CharacterLevelStyling.
Now you can move individual characters.

You don't need Character Level Styling to move individual characters, you can do that from the viewer with the manual kerning control. It will let you change the styling though, as it says, so you can do underline, font, bold, size, etc. per character. But even that won't let you select non sequential characters, though.

Thanks fellas, so just to confirm; there is no current way to slide the alternate letters of words in a sentence unless you move each character individually?

So you want to animate something like:
- Code: Select all
eape +
xml
=
example
?
