Question on Generation notes

I am just to busy at the moment to seriously look into this, so call me lazy I guess. I was just wondering if anyone has come across an issue with generation where you enter a note on a shot and it does not remember that note related to the clip. In other words, I select the clip and enter a media note and it does not show up. I could be doing it all wrong, or have not set something up correctly, but nothing works. Any thoughts?
