A new licence type request

Hi,

I've got an idea for a new Fusion licence type, that could become quite attractive for many people.

Currently there are two licence types
Fusion Free
Fusion Studio - $995

I propose a new type of licence: Fusion Freelancer - priced at around $400

This type of licence would allow one to use Optical Flow toolset, scripting, stereo tools and OFX support.

Other limitations such as: Max output size capped to UHD, absence of network rendering, absence of network bins, generation and SDK.

Another limitation would be that this licence can be sold only one per person or a company.

Limiting to one licence per person/company along with absence of any network rendering scalability features and output resolution limit still in place would ensure this licence would not be used in any high-profit studio environment, but would still be a good option for users who require some of the stereo and retiming tools, and people like me who would generally just like to throw some money at Blackmagic, because using such a great product as Fusion for free feels like stealing.

So what do you guys think :?:

Probably not going to happen unless it requires a certain level UltraStudio or Decklink as a dongle.

Resolve Studio comes as a $1000 freebie when you buy a $2000 camera, so it's not crazy to think that Fusion Studio could come as a $1000 freebie when you buy a $2000+ Decklink, ATEM, or UltraStudio.

Non-starter, IMHO.

A lot of extra work for BMD without a lot of payoff.

Right now, they give you a powerhouse of VFX for free. Most freelancers will be fine with it. If you need the advanced features, you should be able to scrape together $999.

Let's not forget that you can run a whole VFX studio from one seat of studio and a bunch of free seats.

Houdini Indie has been a huge success for Side Effects, though, that and Houdini Engine has expanded their business immensely in the last couple of years...

Seriously,

at $999 a studio lic is a steal. The nearest competitor clocks in a $7K.

Frankly I think it's priced just right!
