[BUG] not all preferences are saved

Description of the bug:
not all of the settings in preferences gets saved
noticed this with the new "view->fit margin" settings. not matter what i choose there and hit save, as soon as i open the preferences again the setting is back to default

Steps to reproduce:
open preferences, go to the view settings, change "fit margin", hit save, reopen preferences and see all values are back on the default settings
