Fusion/Resolve Integration

PostSun Nov 01, 2015 4:26 pm

Sorry for this rather generic question. I'm coming from FCPX/Motion. At a high level, is there any integration or linking of projects between Resolve 12 and Fusion 8?

Thanks,
Mark

AFAIK right now the answer is no, though I think there are some workflow tools in the Studio version of Fusion.

There's a good chance that Fusion/Resolve integration will be part of BMD's next big NAB announcements, though the only people who'd know for sure are the management and the developers actually working on Fusion and Resolve.

It's been just about a year since BMD acquired Eyeon Software, and they got mac version out over the summer. It's hard to say how much effort the integration would require, since there's no way to know what changes BMD would need to make in order to accomplish it.

I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of people hoping for that integration, on BMD's own forum as well as others. Based on the design of the Ursa Mini and the way that Resolve 12 has turned out, I'd say that the only question regarding whether or not we'll see a higher degree of integration between Resolve and Fusion is how long it's going to take, which for anyone who isn't intimately familiar with their code is basically rolling dice.
