Monitoring With DNxIO

I went through the tutorial at:
No matter what I tried I could not get anything on my external monitor even though Fusion 8 Beta for the Mac sees my Avid Artist DNxIO. The computer is a Late 2013 Mac Book Pro Retina fully loaded running OS X 10.9.5 . I am using Avid Thunderbolt2 cable to the DNxIO. The DNxIO is connected to an Eizo CX271 via HDMI. I did try different settings in the Fusion preferences. Fusion build is 16, built on Sept. 11 at 09:16:21 . Desktop Video is version 10.5 .
This setup works in Resolve 11.3.1(Full) and Media Composer 8.4.2 .
Any magic button hidden somewhere that I need to press?
