Hi
I wisch to put a scrambel text over a video. To make it easy (!!!) I want to generate
a clip with only the scramble text and the background transparent on fusion and insert it in my videoclip in my premier
this clip like a title.
I don't succeed at having the background transparent. alway black and cover my video.
I try on the text box to play with the A channel, the same with
the saver box without success.
What do I do wrong.
David

in which format do you render from fusion?

to have transparency you need an Alpha channel, but not all output formats support this

there is an option in the saver 'attempt to save alpha'. if you codec supports it, it will save the alpha, if not, it won't.

But what Codec? Only very few QuickTime codecs support a alpha channel (e.g. Animation Codec)

Win 10/ Fusion 8

Ok I find on the saver only the option save alpha to color. Is that what you mean by attempt to save alpha?
I have also quicktime 7.7.8. When I try to down load the codec4444 it tells me the one on my computer is of a later version
Do I have to configure somewhere in fusion for the codec ?
Regards
david

Make sure you manually write the extension of the file to be rendered to be ".mov" and use either of the codecs (you are comfortable with using in regards of level of compression for your new clip) you have available in the "format" tab of the saver which when selected reveal "attempt to save alpha" checkbox there. Do check it if for some reason it is unchecked.
Also make sure you actually have an alpha channel in your source for the saver and not just solid white or solid transparent image.
