Hiding an object after a certain frame

PostThu Jan 14, 2016 10:53 am

Sorry if the subject is confusing. I was looking for a solution to do this:

One longer scene (317) frames.

One object needs to be tracked, but the object will disappear from time to time or will do extremely wide jumps thus disappearing for a couple of frames.

I ended up using four trackers (for four appearances), but I cannot find a way to make, e.g., object of tracker 1 disappear and, a couple of frames later, let the same object reappear at a different position using tracker 2.

I tried to find a way to give the objects a "time to live" but couldn't figure out how. There is no "from frame to frame" in the nodes, right?

Do I really have to splice up the scene into four parts, or am I missing something?

Hope the description makes sense.

TIA Erik

Can you show us the shot? That would help to give you some concrete tips.
Normally it is possible to do this with one tracker. Just stop tracking where you lose the object, go to the frame where it reappears. Click the 'append track' button and continue your tracking. Then all you have to do is hide the object by animating the blend slider in your merge at the frames where you don't need the merged object.

Thank you! I misread the "append track" button!

This should work, I was to stubborn to see it while searching for start- and end-frame inputs.

Thanks again,
Erik
