Fusion 8 - 2.5d Animation ? Puppet Warp equivalent ?

I'm looking forward to doing something similar to this for a friend and though it would be time to jump back into Fusion.

I'm just not sure Fusion is capable of it.

Are there any good tutorials on 2.5d animation in Fusion out there?

Does fusion have a puppet tool equivalent? Or some way of warping images in a believable manner ?

Fusion is capable of doing it. If you stick to multiplane without organic deformations, Fusion will work for you pretty well. But if you're animating and deforming, it might not be as easy as doing it in AE with the puppet tool.

I'd say your best bet in Fusion would be using the 3D system for the depth, the grid warp for the deformations. Actually, you could add some real depth to some elements with some well painted gradient and 3D Displace tool.

You can use gridwarp for some warps. It is not as elaborate as the puppet tool -yet you can create complex motion with it. Also as mentioned image planes in a 3d comp, possibly with 3d distortion on.

Does this make sense?
