UI FIXES NEEDED

PostTue Feb 02, 2016 6:55 pm

Hi All,

I've been using Fusion under Windows for the past 8 the years and began testing the Mac version of Fusion 8 this fall.

I'm happy to see the new File requester in Beta 3 for Mac, but there are a few things in the UI that need help.

1. The icons at top right are not legible. The actual icon art in these buttons should be larger and I would really prefer at least an option to re-enable color UI icons throughout Fusion.

I'm sure the monochrome look is visually more in line with the Davinci UI, but the color icons make it very easy to tell which function you are using and it a step back to not have them after 8 years of using this software.

2. The file name text field should be left-justified - ideally, it should line up with the file list above it. Having the file name text centered makes it harder to compare the name in the text field with other file names in the folder being viewed.

I'm happy to discuss any of these items in more detail if needed.

Thanks!

Regards,
Mike Smith

I agree about the colors, it's also a training and support issue. Users aren't seeing comments or errors in the console because they no longer show anything visually attractive. That's resulted in a few issues seen on this very forum. The other solution is to just bring back the Appearance preferences and let people decide for themselves what is comfortable and efficient.

Earlier betas were left-justified, but now it's right-justified until the string is smaller than the entry box. I agree that centering makes little sense, but I think right-justified makes a lot of sense because that's where things change the most.
