Hi! Does any one used mandelbrot? What is it for? Any examples on using it in the comp?

I use it all the time for debugging. Posting sample comps without footage in bug reports is nearly useless, but including Man and other Creator tools makes it easy to debug.

What do you mean by bug report?
How does it help?
What kind of footage do you need?

People on this forum will say "My comp doesn't work, but I can't show you the comp because of the footage in it." That's not helpful. Replace the footage with Man and Fn and Plas and Txt+ and see if it fails. If it doesn't then your footage is the problem and we can't help. If it still fails, then you have something that we can help with.

Man has very specific uses by having a mix of frequencies that say, Plas or Fn doesn't have, and it's easy to see changes during image processing. Is it an ideal test pattern? Nope. But not everyone agrees on what that should in fact be.

I have used it in the past as a base to create whacky "energy fx" for sf and fantasy shows. Also the 3D Julia set stuff for the same sort of thing. And if there was a animatable "fractal flame" generator node ala Apothysis I could really trip out . . . :geek:

For now I have to render the base fractal outside Fusion and then import the images to mess about with.
