How to mask a bended (3d) plane? (roto in 3d space)

Hi,
im in trouble with a rotoscoped mask.
I have a "energy field" as 2d-sequence. Connected it to a 3d-plane. Bended the 3d-plane to have a perspective-corrected animation that fits to the wall. Now, i want to mask out something from the 3d-bended plane.
I cannot use the rotoscoped mask on the maskinput from the "energy field" - because than it will be bended, too.

So- what can i do?

one thing that come to my mind is to use different render3d nodes and use the roto after the 3d rendering and merge the results from the render3d nodes in 2d

What Michael says makes a lot of sense. Why are you putting all the footage inside the 3D world to begin with? Just match up the energy field etc, roto the 3dRender output and merge it on top of the original footage.

You can also project masks from your camera view.

Sounds interesting.
Would you explain how that would work please?
And will work different blend options?
As I found out blending (color dodge etc) works only fine in merge 2d... But I'm absolute new in fusion.

Hello Dennis, I was looking at some of the nodes in your flow and I saw some nodes like Druckwelle and Hauswand that aren't available in a default installation of fusion. Was wondering what they nodes do and where can i find it. Also if it would't be too much of a hassle could you explain how you created the "energy field"

Thank you.

That's just the name of the footage.

Do you have Fusion Studio?

Hi!
Druckwelle and Hauswand are renamed loader-nodes. I renamed them for a better "overview".
Both are footages (pressurewave & housewall).

Energyfield is footage, too. You can do something like this with in example particle-illusion (old 2d particle system) or try the new FREE AE-plugin "saber".

No not yet - would it be useful for this project?
Actualy im trying to find out if Fusion is the software i will use in the future - when yes ill bye it.

Here's a Fusion-approach for those force-field-like effects...:-)

Cheers.

Eric.

Yes, you need it to use plugins, and there are plugins that would solve this easily.
