Reflective Surface Reflecting other Shape 3D objects

Hi

In my scene I have two shape 3D objects, one is horizontal for the water which has a reflective material applied and the second shape 3d sits vertical to the water and has an image of a building mapped to it.

My question is, can the water reflect the building image applied to the vertical shape 3D ?

Attached is a screen grab which shows my Fusion workspace - the water is currently reflecting the HDR image.

Thanks for any help !

Yes you can reflect that in the water. It's quite the set up but check out this videos to get you going.

There are some other posts our there, I can't find them right now. Rony had some test scenes regarding reflections at some point..
Hope this helps!

Thanks Joel for the link. Your right, that is alot of setup - I had actually thought of creating a dome from the 3D scene and using that so, maybe that is the best option.

If this is not a perfect feature request I don't know what is. That first tutorial posted is a an old gem but way too much of a workaround for something so simple.

My advice to OP just make a fake reflection that loosely resembles the environment. No one can tell the difference but you.

in the latest 8.1.1 in the "bins->templates->how to" there is a "reflection setting which has everything nicely packed in a group/macro and ready to go
