Render to DNxHR

PostTue Jul 26, 2016 6:03 pm

I need to deliver UHD DNxHR files. Is there a way to do it from Fusion? I can do it with Resolve, but not from Fusion.

If I can not, what intermediate format would you recommend me as intermediate file in a notebook SSD scarcity environment?

Currently, you can only export ProRes directly from Fusion on a Mac.

Either use the link to Resolve for transcoding to DNxHR or Cineform or tell PC users to install QuickTime, but without the player (which minimizes security risks).
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

I'm on Windows7!

Updated to the latest Avid codecs, but still no DNxHR encoding option from fusion.

I took a fast look to the manual, searching for a virtual connection between Resolve and Fusion, to avoid the intermediate rendering. I saw I can send clips from Resove to Fusion, but that method uses intermediate rendering too.

Finally I made some room in the SSD, rendered my Fusion animation to exr sequence, and then encoded to DNxHR with Resolve.

Thanks Uli!
