Fusion won't open after install (black bar + blue spinning)

Hey,

Just installed Fusion on a freshly formatted PC. Somehow I can't get it to run. Once installed I open Fusion and all I get is a black bar and the blue spinning wheel. Sometimes I see the UI but it does not work. It worked fine with a older version.

What has changed?

Joost

*Update:

Just got this error after leaving the PC alone for about 6 hours.
Unable to load pluging: 3D.plugin
Cannot load libary C:/Program Files/Blackmagic Design/Fusion 8/Plugins/Blackmagic/3d.plugin: The specified module could not be found.

I'll hit google up on this now.

*Update

Did not find anything. Re-installed GPU drivers, re-installed Fusion, checked Firewall settings and I can't seem to replicate the same error message after leaving the PC alone while starting Fusion.

Hi Joost

You do not mention you Fusion or OS version but you can try to run Fusion in "compatibility mode".

For example: If you are running Fusion 7 in a Windows 10 installation, tell Windows to run Fusion in Windows 7 compatibility mode.

That's not ideal, but worked for me once.

I've just hit the problem of Fusion not being able to load four plugins at startup - the 3D.plugin, CinemaRaw.plugin, DDSplugin, and FBX.plugin.

Compatibility mode for Windows 7 and 8 generates the same errors - this is the latest Windows 10 update, the big update from August, which I only just installed.

I have reinstalled Fusion, and those four files are definitely there, exactly where the error says they are not.

Will Google some more, but not seeing a fix for this right now.

Typical. There was another minor update which required a restart, yet again. Now Fusion 8 is working. I can only assume that the Windows update process wasn't entirely complete and that somehow messed up Fusion reading certain plugins at startup.

I had the same problem. OS: Win7 . The only solution was to uninstall Avast Free Antivirus. After that Fusion 8.2 worked again.
