Single License on Dongle

PostWed Aug 24, 2016 9:59 am

Hi there,

we have a dongle with a single Fusion Studio license on it.
The dongle / licensing itself works great, but I can't get it to work across the network.
I have to physically plug the dongle into the machine before starting Fusion Studio every time.

I thought that with Fusion 8 there was some sort of automatic license server being deployed that all machines in the network can use?

Cheers
Steffen

I believe network licensing is only for the multi-pack license dongle, not for single license.

That sucks, what's the big deal about having a single dongle floating license. 10 is too big of a jump and buying 10 individual dongle cost more than a pack of 10+ anyway. BMD, just enable it.

Seconded. Very annoying. Having networked render nodes pointing to a dongle which has to move around... Despite having a Fusion 8 dongle sitting here, I still use Eyeon's 6.4 for almost everything. The floating license server exists, just open it up to single license holders.
