RE: VFX Fundamentals - Visual Special Effects Using Fusion 8.0 by Wallace Jackson

Bought this book from Amazon (UK).
The moment I flipped through the pages I regretted buying it.
The print quality is so bad that all of the printed images are ineligible.
Can't see what tool he's using or the tool settings.
Quality control is non existent and I am puzzled by how the publisher released such rubbish.

Just read the first 7 chapters and there is nothing at all about Fusion.
He starts to talk about Fusion only from chapter 8.
His style of writing is irritating and doesn't flow smoothly in communicating ideas and concepts.
Chapters 1 to 7 were spent taking about stuff that is not relevant to fusion users.

The worst thing is he does'nt provide any links to download the project files that he uses in the examples.
Don't waste your money buying this rubbish.
Check out "Digital Compositing with Blackmagic Fusion - Essential Techniques".

From my experience the best way of learning Fusion is watching video tutorials and following along with projects files. In a world of audio-visual its very difficult to focus on the printed word of a book and learn something very complex like visual effects.

Two of the best youtube sites for learning Fusion are:

Good to know.

The one you mentioned isn't available. Have you had the chance to have a look at it?

Thanks. I asked because it seemed the book had been around for some time and I thought there might be a new edition.
