Connecting Tools

PostMon Nov 07, 2016 10:33 pm

I seem to have a lot of problems connecting tools in Fusion, I drag the arrow and half the time it just doesn't connect. I have pipe and link grab distances set to their max but this really slows me down when trying to work at pace. Am I missing something here?

I think, very likely, you're trying to connect different types of nodes.

3D nodes like camera, light, materials, duplicate3D etc. won't work with standard 2D nodes - like blur, scale, matte...

merge node is not the same as merge3D as well as text is not the same as text3D.

use render node to "convert" 3D into 2D

The same situation is with particle nodes.

Check with Alt key when you drag/drop connectors.

Using the RMB when you drag the pipe (or as suggested alt+LMB)
when you reach the target node a menu will pop up and you can select the input you want to connect to

It seems to be a mouse event problem, it is releasing the button when I move the mouse a reasonable distance (Not in any other apps that I can tell). It is a logitech G700 mouse which to be fair has pretty problematic drivers with a lot of software including Resolve.
