View properties for multiple nodes simultaneously?

PostMon Nov 21, 2016 11:48 pm

Greetings,

I want to create an expression in one node referring to a value in the second node by using the '+' picker. However, whenever I twirl open the properties for one node, it closes the properties for the other making this impossible, e.g. the attached image has two nodes selected, but only one has properties viewable. Is there an option in settings to be able to view both?

Thanks

Hi Jordan,

if you click and drag the "+" over the name of the second control and hold for a moment, it will expand automatically.

You can also change the behavior of how the controls are displayed in Preferences>User Interface>Auto Control Close Tools and adjusting how many tools are displayed at once inte the "Limit" box:

Hi adelson,

Ok, I upped my Limit to 2 and tried dragging, but it didn't seem to work. Am I dragging to the right place?

I have just tried the exact combination of Duplicate 3D and Shape 3D of your example and the Pickwhip expanded the Shape3D controls without problems.

Maybe is this an issue with your display driver? You could try to update it.

Hey Adelson,

I quit and re-launched Fusion after making those changes to the settings and that seems to have worked. Thanks for your help!

Cheers,

Jordan

You could also use 'Pin' button on top-left each operator properties, to lock panels with no refreshing.

There is an option in the Preferences called "Auto control close tools." Uncheck that. In Fusion 7 it's under General. I believe it's in a User Interface category in Fusion 8, but I don't have it open at the moment to check.
