Chroma keying in fusion is great. Yes, it can get complicated but it all depends on the footage.
You have a lot of tools to choose from and combine them to get the best results.

There won't be any one click solution and keying is an art and craft. Which needs practice

AFAIK there are not many tutorials on keying in fusion directly

The keyers that ship with Fusion leave a little bit to be desired, in my opinion. Primatte is amazing for some situations, such as poorly-lit screens, but it doesn't do as well with fine, translucent edge detail. Keylight (which is amazing for that kind of detail) is no longer available for Fusion, so some enterprising users have come up with their own solutions. Check out the KAK fuse by Pieter Van Houte. (I seem to be under moderation and cannot post links, so you'll just have to search for it yourself.)

KAK uses an algorithm similar to Keylight and gets similar results.
