I found some *.alut3 files while searching the internet. Do these still work in Fusion 8? If so can anyone tell me explicitly how to use one? thanx --ds

Yes, they work in Fusion.

To use as a View lut, place it in the 'luts' folder. Location is based on OS, but with path mapping you can assign your own location to luts.
Also, you can use the file File LUT tool and use it in the flow.

Thanx for the quick reply. Just to make clear, then, these only change the appearance of the image in the viewport, they're not used to actually change the image file? So for example, I think there's one called solarize - one can't use it as a solarize effect like in photoshop? Or am I still missing something here?

If you use it in the viewport lut settings it just change the appearance in the viewer not the actual image data.
If you apply it in a lut node in the flow it will affect the image directly.

Thanx for the info, but either the alut3 files I have are bad or I'm not doing something correctly. I drag that tool into the flow, connect the output of an image into it, and then I get a console error that reads: "FileLUT1 failed at time 0", and I can't see anything in a viewport. If I'm doing this correctly, can you possibly point me to a working alut3 file that I can check out, and maybe troubleshoot it from that? thanx --ds
