I am ready to purchase a copy of Fusion Studio for Mac but none of the authorized retailers in the USA offer a Mac based version, only Windows.

I talked to B&H support and they had no answer on this. I sent an email to BMD support and have not received an answer yet.

Can anyone here point me in the right direction?

AFAIK you just need to buy the dongle. It will work cross-platform. Just download the Mac version from the site as soon as you have the dongle and you should be good to go.

This is the only thing on B&H.

Naturally I don't want to spend US$1k only to find out I bought the wrong thing.

I purchased from B&H for Mac and can confirm that the dongle is cross-platform. It works on Mac.

Then e-mail them. The forums are primarily for users and not official Blackmagic communication.

Just to use their site as a reference, B&H image of the Fusion Studio shows it covers both Windows & Mac.

I appreciate your response. However B&H needs to really change their description of the product. Nowhere on that page do they explicitly say this is multi-platform. Look under "Specs" and you will see it omits OS X. I have no idea if this dongle will work on both systems and given their very clear warning at the top (" IMPORTANT NOTICE: This item is non-cancelable and non-returnable") i didn't want to risk it.

So if this is the case I will purchase it. Thanks!

Some OSX laptops require a dongle dongle, but otherwise you'd be fine.
