I don't think the xBox app is the culprit. It is part of Win 10 by default and Michael confirms Fusion 8.2.1 is working for him on Win 10. I did go in to the app and turn off the Game Bar, which BTW is a screen capture tool. It does not pop up now, but made no difference.
There are other posts in here with similar issues with v8, and mostly only dropping back to v7 was the solution. Some suggest it is a problem with FusionQTServer. I guess only BMD knows what change was made that would cause this. This is on a relatively new Asus laptop running win 10 with few programs installed. So I doubt it is an isolated case. But of course, I don't know. Fusion 8.2.1 installs and runs ok on my old workstation with a weak gpu. This makes me think it is something in Win 10 specifically that is a problem for whatever changed under the hood going to v8.
Does Fusion create an error log somewhere? It does not display and error, and I haven't found a log anywhere.
