Footage opacity

PostThu Jun 01, 2017 9:04 am

Hi guys

Is there a way i can lower the opacity of a footae to zero
I've been trying to connect 4 separate footages to make it seem like it was all one take

But i keep having troubles with the merge, it turns to error because the some clips are shorter than others

I did a cheap trick to hold the last frame and try to use the "blend in" option in it, and it worked but for the clip that is connected to the forrground

the first footage that is connected to the background is having no effect on fading

I just want to lower the opacity of that first footage but i don't see how this can be done

Please and thank you in advance

Edwin, it sound's like you're almost there.
Just remember what you're asking: how to lower opacity. That means: how to make transparent, right?
When you make something transparent, you have to have something to see in its place, yes?
It sounds like you're trying to blend 4 seperate takes into each other.
If you don't need masks you can use a dissolve tool for this.
But if you do need to mask your footage, you're most likely best of with a BG tool that is valid for the duration of your comp. Then merge your 4 pieces of footage on top of that.
This way you never run out of 'background'.

Hope this helps.
