Plugins, Fuses, Bins etc On network

Is there any disadvantage or issues placing all Plugins, Fuses, Bins, macros, settings etc... on a network drive location? I end up having to update my nodes often enough to wonder if I can just do a global network location.
Cheers,

That's how we do things. In fact, we run Fusion itself from the network.

The only troubling thing is that when an artist sets a default on a tool, it affects everyone. My understanding is that the first path in the path map should be where a saved default goes, but that doesn't seem to be how it works—it always seems to follow the Fusion path first. We're still testing to see if that's an actual bug or if we just aren't understanding how the path map priorities work.

Thanks Bryan, I'll give it a try and see how it goes.

You could lock files that way. A bin server will give you the effect of having network bins without the locks. For plugins and Fuses you can avoid the locks by syncing the folders locally when you launch Fusion.
