MXF in Fusion9

PostWed Aug 02, 2017 6:56 am

Fu9 supports MXF using FFmpeg Decoder, right?

FFmpeg is different from davinci and adobe decoder. It has a little contrast. davinci and adobe are the same result.

Why doesn't Fu9 use the same decoder as davinci? FFmpeg is pointless!

Edit:My MXF is s-log3 from Sony F55.

Is it possible to post a link to a small sample footage?

Hi Jith,

Left side is MXF in Fu9, Right side is EXR from MXF with Resolve.

My experience, I convert from Tiff sequences to Prores with FFmpeg(console not Fusion 9). It always shift gamma(contrast).

Thanks for the sample Inoue-san.

Although Fu9 uses FFmpeg to decode XAVC, the colorspace conversion is done natively in Fusion. Let me look into this.

Anyone know if MXF support includes Sony RAW?

Cheers.

Unfortunately, No! Sony RAW requires a licensed codec. FFmpeg is only for XAVC. Useless!

I found that 2K XAVC on Fu9 is the same result as DaVinci Resolve and Adobe. But 4K XAVC has different contrast. Despite the same camera F55 and slog3. I sent the footage to BMD Japan.

Fusion 9 can't read the timecode of MXF via FFmpeg, right? :?

I tried decode test with sample footages via http://zsyst.com/sony-4k-camera-page/sony-f55-sample-footage-downloadable-samples/ HD XAVC Log and 4K XAVC Log (Green screen) has different contrast between DaVinci and Fusion 9. Only my HD XAVC has no difference. I don't know what happened.
