DnxhR UHD problem

PostSat Aug 05, 2017 12:17 pm

I can't seem to load dnxhr uhd mxf files with fusion 9, I can see all other mxf dnx versions but not UHD, is this a non studio fusion 9 limitation? I am on windows 7, everything else is working fine. In the console I get "bad file descriptor" per frame. I installed the 2.7.3 PE codecs, and tried installing C:\FFmpeg as well. Resolve can see them.

That would be a bug. Fusion free should be able to load anything the Studio version can. It's only limited on the output side. Is that error message the same for more than one file? Sometimes some software can ignore an error that others cannot.

Apparently it works only with DNxHR HQX files which are 12 bit, all other types, LB, SQ, HQ don't work, behavior is consistent with all files encoded by AVID MC 8.4.4, Quicktime Version 7.7.9.

I have the same problem where Fusion 9 Studio not loading DNxHR HQX. I have Avid 2.7.3.39175 codec and have no problems loading the same footage in Resolve 14b6 or Fusion 8 Studio 8.1.2. This has to be a bug, but if anybody has an immediate solution that would be great.

There has been a bug with Resolve with 10bit DnxHR rendering due to Nvidia graphic driver versions. Could try updating graphic drivers to see if it fixes this. I had to do this for resolve, and then 10bit DNxHR started working. Could be the same bug?

I am unable to reproduce this issue. It would be really helpful if you can upload some clips that wont work (i.e DNxHR LB, HQ or SQ).

8 bit mov DNxHR SQ files made with Dali suite work fine.

Only some mxf from avid aren't working. Also Resolve !4b6 with fusion connect only gives me the option for 444 Mxf files. I uploaded a file as it is named by avid here

(changing the name doesn't make a difference)

I could work with 444, of course, its mostly a file size/ storage space issue

Thank you for uploading the file. Looks like Fusion is reading the index table incorrectly for some OP-Atom MXF files. Should be fixed in one of the future releases.

Here is an example file that opens and plays in Fusion Studio 8.1.2 and Davinci Resolve Studio 14b6 but not in Fusion Studio 9 (same workstation). It was recorded with an Atomos Ninja Flame.
